In Isaac Shall Thy Seed Be Called
by William Bell
The problem most have with interpreting the "seed" in Jeremiah 31:35-37 is beginning in the "middle" or at the "end" rather than at the beginning. God defined the "seed" of Abraham in Gen. 12:7; 21:12; 22:18 (which by the way is none other than the "seed" in Gen. 3:15).
He said, "In Isaac shall thy seed be called". A significant point about Isaac is that God commands Abraham to "kill him" (offer him as a sacrifice) which he did (Gen. 22:1-12; Heb. 11:17-19).
The significance of this point is missed. Isaac was Abraham's natural ...

Does The Bible Say All of Israel Will Be Saved?
Why do some believe that the Bible teaches that all of Israel will be saved? Usually this question is asked based on the text in Romans 11:22-27. Particularly, in verse 26, Paul says and so all Israel will be saved. The English Standard Version (ESV) reads:
“And in this way all Israel will be saved…” We will give our thoughts on this text later. But, here are some of the concerns which must be answered in this seeming difficult text.
Does the text mean every individual in Israel?
Was Paul speaking of all ethnic ...

Will All Israel Will Be Saved?
A major question in the minds of people today is whether all Israel will be saved? The name of Israel always suggests three things, community, confusion and conflict. By community, we mean who Israel is, biblically speaking. The attempt to answer that question creates confusion and often results in conflict.
Who is responsible for this confusion and conflict? Primarily, those who use the extend the future of Israel, i.e., all Israel will be saved beyond the historical context and setting of the Bible. We will briefly illustrate what we mean in the following words.
All Israel Will Be Saved
The above ...

The Seed of Abraham Part Two
God further clarified that the fleshly descendants of Abraham were not the seed of Abraham by choosing Jacob over Esau through whom the promise would be fulfilled? If all the fleshly descendants of Abraham were entitled to the promise God could not have chosen Jacob and rejected Esau. Yet, the text says of the twins, (for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls), it ...

Identifying The Seed of Abraham
Who is the seed of Abraham? What is their inheritance according to the promise? Who are the descendants of Abraham after him and what about their inheritance? These questions sum up the entire bible in terms of God's relationship with his people. The promise of deliverance from sin and death alluded to in Genesis 3:15, is carried through Abraham then more narrowly through Isaac and Jacob.
The Promised Seed of Abraham
God gave Abraham the promise according to Genesis 12:1-3. "Now the Lord had said to Abraham; Get out of your country, from your family and from your ...
