Revelation Bible Study
One of the messages gleaned from Revelation Bible Study is that the end is not the end and by that we mean the end of time and or life on the planet. The Apocalypse sheds more light on the passages in the prophets and in the gospels which speak of the life and the message of God continuing after Jesus' return or parousia. The word parousia means presence. It affirms that Christ is here with believers today.
Obviously, this refers to His spiritual presence. Erroneously, many believers expect a physical bodily return of Christ of the same nature in ...
Leftbehind And The Tribulation Period

Leftbehind and the Tribulation Period
Some of the most popular Leftbehind books on eschatology are based on the mythological teaching of a future Rapture of the saints on earth. The
future Tribulation Period teaching books by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins have steered so many in the wrong direction regarding the end times.
The idea that God will one day en mass remove all Christians from the earth is totally unfounded in Scripture. In fact, it is diametrically opposite to what the Biblical text says. The principle which must be kept in mind is that we're discussing judgment passages.
Christ did not leave ...

Firstfruits of the Spirit
Firstfruits of the Spirit
Most of the lessons I grew up hearing about giving were sermons on Proverbs 3:9–10 about the firstfruits. Never would I have asked “What Do the Firstfruits
of the Spirit Have to Do With Eschatology?” At that time, I had no clue about the richness of the teachings of the firstfruit imagery in Scripture.
We were taught not to spend our money until we first gave a portion back to God. The concept of giving God the best and the first fruits offerings begins with Abel and Cain, (Gen. 4:3, 4).
One major problem with those who seek to understand the end time is a failure ...
Matthew 24-What About That Day and Hour?
December 6th, 2008 | Eschatology | 1 Comment
Here’s one of the favorite futurist's
arguments on Matthew 24 – What
about that day and hour?
Let’s face it, if no one knows the
day and hour of Christ’s return,
doesn’t it seem a bit ridiculous
that anyone would presume to
speak of it with certainty?
Not only have we had people who
claimed to know the precise day
and hour, they argued they could
not be wrong.
The only problem with that was
the year was 1988!
Then, the same guy who said
he couldn’t be wrong, changed
the date to 1989!
Guess what? He’s still predicting
the wrong date to this day?
There is a clear reason why he
doesn’t get it.
He’s looking in the wrong direction
and ...
Who Is the Ancient of Days in Daniel 7?
November 15th, 2008 | Book of Revelation | 19 Comments
Daniel 7, a hotbed for eschatological theorizing,
continues to baffle commentators, past and
present.
The solution to the identity of the Ancient of
Days is in my opinion, one that is without
controversy.
The most common designation this obviously
Divine character is God himself. This view
largely stems from the reading of the text.
Variant renderings are:
The Son of Man comes to the Ancient of Days
The Son of Man comes as the Ancient of Days
In the first rendering the Father is meant. In
the second it refers to the Son. Can we solve
this debate of Who is the Ancient of Days in
Daniel 7?
Have you ever overlooked the obvious when it
was ...
