What is the Power of Prophecy?

Power of Prophecy
What is the power of prophecy? One of the best ways I can illustrate the answer to that question as an introduction is to tell you about my own personal story. Shortly after becoming a Christian, I was told that there were several religions and that Christianity might not be true. This greatly disturbed me as I surely was seeking God at the time and wanted to know that I had done the right thing by obeying the Bible.
I was in despair, and certainly void of the skills I have developed in research, the many resources I have ...

What Is the Connection Between Eschatology And The Faith?
The subject of Christ's return in AD 70 continues to be a major hurdle for believers, especially as it concerns eschatology and the faith. Many are not aware that the faith as system of salvation is achieved only through the consummation of the end times. In other words, it cannot be separated from the coming of the Lord. (Visit the audio page to listen to an audio version of eschatology and the faith.)
To establish our premise that the faith is directly correlated with the parousia, we cite a familiar text from Old ...

The Kingdom of God Has Arrived?
A great concern with many people is whether the kingdom of God is near? How can we know? The most reasonable way to discover the answer to this question is to inquire from the scriptures. What does the Bible say about the kingdom of God?
It is quite well known that Jesus announced the coming of his kingdom. In so doing, he stated that it was both at hand and would arrive before those living in his day died? Why is this not well known, publicized and preached?
For example, in Mark 1;14, Jesus urged repentance saying ...

A Day As A Thousand Years - Christian Eschatology
Second Peter three is a much abused text in the study of Christian eschatology (the end times and last days prophecy). One of the most abused passages in the chapter is verse 8. "But beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." How have the futurists, skeptics and Dispensationalists used this verse? In a word, backwards.
What I mean is that they have used it in exactly the opposite manner as that intended by the Apostle. ...
Revelation Bible Study

Revelation Bible Study
One of the messages gleaned from Revelation Bible Study is that the end is not the end and by that we mean the end of time and or life on the planet. The Apocalypse sheds more light on the passages in the prophets and in the gospels which speak of the life and the message of God continuing after Jesus' return or parousia. The word parousia means presence. It affirms that Christ is here with believers today.
Obviously, this refers to His spiritual presence. Erroneously, many believers expect a physical bodily return of Christ of the same nature in ...
