Eternal Conscious Punishment and the Immortal Body
In this post, I have a few questions and observations I want to raise for those who accept the individual body view of resurrection in 70 AD, with ongoing individual bodies being raised to immortality after death.
This view is strongly advocated by Ed Stevens, a long time friend and brother in Christ. This writing is not a personal attack on Stevens. It merely focuses on his position and the problems I see with it.
It allows an opportunity to evaluate the individual body view in the light of Ed's teachings and what we believe the ...

The Kingdom of God and Immortality
In discussing the subject of the kingdom of God and immortality, some writers and speakers have chosen to limit this concept to that of individual bodies.
They believe that the focus of immortality, eternal life and incorruption has as its center, a remaking of the physical body of man.
At its core, is the idea that man's body is evil in some way, i.e. that it has fallen under a sinful nature from which it cannot escape in this life, except through death.
Further, such escape is only available to those who obey the gospel. This thinking permeates ...
Death – Is it Natural or Conditional?

Death in Genesis
Death in redemption is often misunderstood because of our misunderstanding of death in Genesis. Most can only perceive that Adam's death is physical or biological per the penalty in Gen. 2:16-17. However, we believe this is shallow reasoning and a failure to take in all the evidence supplied to us in Genesis.
It is assumed that death fell upon God's creation, not only for man but for all the creation as a direct result of sin. This is just plain wrong. It totally ignores the facts of the case. Let's take Genesis 1:11 for example. God said, "Let the earth ...

Can you help me understand the
death of death?
It’s always interesting to talk with
people about their concepts of death
and resurrection.
Most of their questions however are
focused on biological death and how
they believe the end time addresses and resolves the termination of
our humanity.
Given this paradigm, it is easy to see how difficult attempting to explain how death is destroyed in Christ could be one of those ideas that would provoke questions on how death comes to an end?
People are Always Dying and Always Will Die

The Time Element of Bible Prophecy

The greatest problem some encounter when seeking
to understand the return of Christ may be one of
the easiest to resolve. It requires reading, faith
to believe and a little common sense.
What is the key that unlocks this door of difficulty?
"Time.” If this one factor were understood the
questions would quickly change from “when” is
the Lord coming to “how” did he come?
As long as the underlying fundamental of time is
understood and accepted, we have the framework
that can lead us to understanding “how.” If we
reject the element of “time” particularly “imminent”
time as will be demonstrated below, we are often left
open to form all types ...
