G.K. Beale and Israel's Land Promises
Israel's Land Promises
It is intriguing how many exegetes turn dispensational in their interpretations of Israel's land promises.
We've seen this occur in Gary Demar's debate with Dr. Michael Brown. It is also evident in Beale's book, "A New Testament Biblical Theology".
In Chapter 22, he gives an extended study on the land promises of Israel. He acknowledges that the restoration through Christ does not return believing people to a physical land as a mark of their redemption.
Hello! Then why, if Christ did not return them to a physical land, does he seek to do so?
"Redeemed people do ...

Firstfruits and the Resurrection
It seems apparent, that advocates of a future resurrection of the physical body have a bit of difficulty with the concept of the firstfruits spoken of in the New Testament. We are speaking of the term as used of both Christ, whom we shall designate as the "first of the firstfruits" and the New Testament saints or believers in Christ who are represented by the term firstfruits in their organic connection with him.
In a series of exchanges with writers for the Reign of Christ website, particularly Paul T. and Sam Frost, objections were raised to my use ...

The Local Church Post 70AD?
What is the status of the local church post 70 AD? Some see no relevance for the local church after Christ's returned in the first century. They believe that the church only continued up to that point, claiming it was a Jewish institution. We dealt with that fallacy in the previous article on Israel's Hope - The Body of Christ. We strongly encourage you to look at some of the points we made.
Since we discussed the "body of Christ" in particular, our focus was on the church as the divine institution sent down from heaven by ...

Firstfruits of the Spirit
Firstfruits of the Spirit
Most of the lessons I grew up hearing about giving were sermons on Proverbs 3:9–10 about the firstfruits. Never would I have asked “What Do the Firstfruits
of the Spirit Have to Do With Eschatology?” At that time, I had no clue about the richness of the teachings of the firstfruit imagery in Scripture.
We were taught not to spend our money until we first gave a portion back to God. The concept of giving God the best and the first fruits offerings begins with Abel and Cain, (Gen. 4:3, 4).
One major problem with those who seek to understand the end time is a failure ...
Pauline Eschatology, Apekdechomai and Preterism

In our first study, we examined Romans 8:19, in the context of
of the creation. The primary focus of the study is Paul's employ
of the terms apokaradokia and apekdechomai.
In this study, the focus moves more specifically to the subject
of the end. There can be no doubt that the resurrection and
the revealing of the sons of God are intertwined.
"Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit,
even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for
the adoption, the redemption of our body." (Romans 8:23)
When I first began studying Romans 8 and eschatology, I
experienced a great deal of anxiety in ...
