Are the spiritual gifts in the Bible operative today? We must offer caution as we answer this question. First, we must define what we mean by operative. If by operative we mean can believers today perform miracles the we may get one answer. If we mean are the miracles in the Bible operative today, we may get another answer.

Gifts Without Repentance
What are the gifts without repentance in Romans 11:29? In an attempt to find passages that support an ongoing charismata, i.e. spiritual gifts in operation beyond 70AD, Romans 11:17 is cited to show that God would never end spiritual gifts until we arrived in heaven.
However, the statement has to be taken in context. It appears to be a reference to Numbers 23:19-20:
God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it goood? ...

Does The Bible Say All of Israel Will Be Saved?
Why do some believe that the Bible teaches that all of Israel will be saved? Usually this question is asked based on the text in Romans 11:22-27. Particularly, in verse 26, Paul says and so all Israel will be saved. The English Standard Version (ESV) reads:

A major question in the minds of people today is whether all Israel will be saved? The name of Israel always suggests three things, community, confusion and conflict. By community, we mean who Israel is, biblically speaking. The attempt to answer that question creates confusion and often results in conflict.

Death in redemption is often misunderstood because of our misunderstanding of death in Genesis. Most can only perceive that Adam's death is physical or biological per the penalty in Gen. 2:16-17.
