1 Corinthians 15, continues to be a battleground of eschatological turf. The major issues here are whether the text focuses on physical or sin-death, and whether it is about a past or future event. What one decides about the chapter depends largely upon the first step to interpreting it. Hence we ask, "Resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15, Where Did You Start?
For many, this is not even a question to be entertained. The answer seems so logical to them that they would not even ask the question. In other words, it is to them a foregone conclusion that the apostles is ...
What Does Paul Say About Daniel 12 and the Time of...

In a recent study, we discussed
Daniel 12, and Paul’s commentary
on the timing of the resurrection.
The question of inquiry was “What
does Paul say about Daniel 12 and
the time of the resurrection?”
However, we did not begin in Daniel, though it was the guiding text, but
took as our starting point, Romans 13:11–12. Here, we examined eschatology as both an exegetical (relating to hermeneutics and interpretation) and mathematical proposition. Understanding Daniel in the light of Paul’s teaching creates a very challenging mathematical proposition. Let’s note the text to see what we mean.

Failed bible prophecies is an oxymoron. Yet
the Rapture has failed. That raises the
question, Is it a Bible prophecy?
For centuries until now proponents claim
it is near, but it never ceases to disappoint.
Recent history of the past two hundred years
document men of all shades who claimed to
have known signs of its nearness.
Not one single sign has yielded fruit on the
barren rapture tree. It’s time to “cut it down.”
Why does it yet cumber the ground of the
theological landscape?
The Test of a False Prophet/Prophecy
God made this test very simple. “When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord ...

A Natural and a Spiritual Body
In 1 Corinthians 15:44, the Apostle Paul speaks of the contrast between a natural and a spiritual body. Today, we hear a lot about “spirituality” especially from a new age perspective. However, most people claiming to be spiritual are completely out of harmony with the manner in which the term is used in Scripture.
In fact, the way many use that term is what the Bible emphatically calls the “natural” man. There are two Greek terms used to describe these contrasts. When these are understood, the difference between the natural body and the spiritual body becomes ...
How Does Paul Use The Term “Body”?

The study of the resurrection is one of
great interest and controversy. That
conflict derives from the question of
How does Paul use the term body?
For many, body in resurrection texts
is unquestionable. They take it to be
so obviously literal that an alternate
viewpoint is considered ridiculous.
The following points should help in our
understanding of the body from Paul’s
view point.
First, we must begin with the motif of
Christ’s departure from the world of Judaism. This is characterized as a second Exodus. Luke 9:312 speaks of his “decease,” which he would accomplish at Jerusalem.
How Does Paul Use the Term Body?
The word “decease” is translated from “exodus.” Therefore, Christ, ...
