When Would the Heaven and Earth Pass Away?
It is argued by many that the heavens and earth of Hebrews 1:10-12, which speaks of perishing and changing like a garment refer to the natural heaven and earth. In other words, some believe in "global" eschatological destruction of the universe. Is this what the Hebrews' writer has in mind in the context and verse of not only Hebrews one, but of the entire epistle.

Paul said Abraham had two sons, one born of Hagar, and one of Sarah. Note: These are the TWO covenants. Not the ONE, but the TWO COVENANTS, v. 24. Hagar is the covenant of bondage and answers to "Jerusalem" which "NOW IS". There is the word now in context, in the first century. Paul did not say it NOW "WAS", but it "NOW IS".
Next he says Hagar was in "bondage with her children", i.e. the Old Covenant people he now refers to as the "Ishmael" of the allegory. Next, he says but the Jerusalem which is ABOVE is ...

Christ Shall Appear A Second Time Hebrews 9:28
So many who believe that the Bible teaches a yet future coming of Christ cite the, Christ shall appear a second time Hebrews 9:28 coming apart from sin for salvation. The problems with applying this text as yet future today, ignore some very basic contextually limiting indicators.
First, there is the "present time". Secondly, the eschatological Spirit, third, the then current tabernacle and its related work, fourth, the new heavenly tabernacle related to that coming, fifth the little while time frame for the new tabernacle and sixth, the immediate context.
