Peace in the Middle East or in New Jerusalem?

Icon Apocalypse

Image via Wikipedia

For many, eschatology centers around the
natural realm of national peace involving
the Middle East.

Is eschatology focused on peace in the
Middle East or in New Jerusalem?

Any reasonable person desires peace over
war and bloodshed.

When people or nations civilly work out
their differences, much good results.

While the predominant themes in modern
eschatological views focus on political and
military battles, this was not the focus of
Christ. (more…)

1 Corinthians 15 and Hosea

Much controversy exists over the
resurrection of the dead. It is often
denied that the 1 Corinthians 15 has
anything to do with Israel.

Is1 Corinthians 15 Israel’s resurrection?
Many see Jesus’ death on the cross as
God’s last word to Israel.

Those who do are very tight-lipped
about anything that speaks of Israel
beyond the cross, (AD. 30).

Barrack Obama, Rick Warren, Gays and Eschatology?

Roman clad in a toga

Cenk Uygur published an article in the Huffington Post, Dec. 19, 2008, titled “Not Another Word on Gay Marriage Until They Execute An Adulterer.”

This article is part of the backlash being hurled at Saddleback’s Rick Warren and President elect Barrack Obama.

Barrack Obama and Rick Warren Disagree Over Gay Marriage

Known as “Pastor Warren,” President elect Barrack Obama chose him to give the invocation at the inauguration in January. They differ on the gay marriage issue and other issues, but agree on others such as poverty and civil rights.

Now perhaps you are wondering how an issue like this winds up on a blog about eschatology? Well, after looking at the issue, it is precisely related to eschatology.  But, we’ll reserve those comments for later.

Before we go further, understand that I have agreements and disagreements with both Barrack Obama and Rick Warren, so this is not about a defense or condemnation of either of them.

Is Worldwide Evangelism End Time Prophecy?

End of the World

During the seventies, I heard a televangelist
speak on end time prophecy. He spoke about
how the Lord could not return until the gospel
had been preached to all the world.

At that time he believed it was impossible to
do, because as far as communication was
concerned, the world was yet an unchartered
territory.

During the 80’s and 90’s we started to hear

Would the Apostles remain alive till
the Son of Man comes?
That’s a
simple question. The answer is not
so simple.

One would think that the apostles, long
since deceased, are certainly not roaming
through the streets of Israel.

However, according to the New Testament,
that’s exactly where they should be?

The following statement was published in

Is the Kingdom of God Present on Earth?

Kingdom of God.

Kingdom of God

Is the kingdom of God present on earth?
Perhaps you would ask why, if there is so
much evil in this world would anyone
think that God’s kingdom is here?

Or, how could God be reigning over men
while we yet live on earth? It seems we
have a world that has lost sight of the
unseen.

Perhaps only in the world of religion and
personal development (which is a practical
outworking of religion) do people give
more value to the existence of invisible
realities.

Will We Face The Great Tribulation?

Daniel

The Great Tribulation

The great tribulation announced by the
prophets Jeremiah and Daniel precedes
the consummation of the Jewish age.

Will we today face the great tribulation?
Many think so. Others believe that an
Arab-Israel (Zionist) war, in the Middle
East will signal an end time Armageddon.

Many labor under an end time myth. It is
believed that we are headed for the great
tribulation, a precursor of an end time battle
of Armageddon.

Jeremiah wrote of the great tribulation.  He called the time of Jacob’s trouble. (Jer. 30:7) The time would be so severe that God likens it to men having babies like women in labor. (more…)

Second Coming Intro to Prophecy Video

Do the scriptures teach an imminence

Do you remember what you were doing
in September 1988?

Edgar Whisenant had published that
Christ would return in September

The prediction failed. Believers felt
deceived. The world was disappointed.
Whisenant was embarrassed.

Are you disappointed at failed predictions?

Romans 13:11 - Video

In our final segment and study of the
last hour and appointed time of Daniel,
we examine Paul’s quotes of Daniel.

Is Romans 13:11 Daniel’s appointed
time to awake out of sleep?

Remember the story I shared with you
earlier about my mother.

Well, she had a very unique way of
letting us know that it was the
appointed time to awake.

If we did not get out of bed immediately upon that first loving but firm shake, she would silently walk back toward the kitchen. Our eyes would close and we unfortunately would fall back asleep. (more…)

In this, our second installment on the
resurrection in Daniel, we examine the
Lord’s divine commentary on Daniel 12:2.
Did Christ See Daniel’s Appointed Time?

In the first segment we noted that
Daniel identified the “time of the end”
as the appointed time for the indignation
or anger of God against his people Israel.
