How Does the Transfiguration Confirm the Imminent ...

One of the most intriguing texts on study of eschatology is that of the transfiguration. What happened in that text is more than meets the eye of the average reader. Further, it challenges the modern prophetic concepts of a long drawn out protracted parousia. Our aim in this writing is to answer those questions. Namely, "How does the transfiguration confirm the imminent coming of Christ?"
The Transfiguration Scene and the Lord Coming in Glory
On the surface it does not appear that this text has anything to do with the Lord's parousia (second presence). However, a more careful reading of the text ...

Daniel
I can’t believe what I’m reading!
Imagine, Paul did not preach the
gospel of the kingdom of God!
The book of Acts does not mention
the preaching of the gospel of
the kingdom?
It was only preached from John,
the Baptizer until the cross! Reading
this is like watching a ghinzu knife
commercial in the hands of a an angry chimpanzee.
Are butcher knives the new hermeneutic of the gospel of the kingdom of God? It’s not the first time that we heard
someone suggesting that certain parts of the gospel are cut out to appease the whims of those who can’t accept the message as it is.
But to argue that ...
Preterism is False, Is it True or False?
March 23rd, 2009 | Preterism | 4 Comments
A few professors associated with Liberty
University are beginning to panic over
Preterism.
Preterism is False, Is it True or False?, is a
reply to objections raised by panicking
Dispensationalists. Preterism is a Latin
term which means past.
From the perspective of Bible prophecy,
it refers to all end times events as having
been fulfilled in the past. It is the opposite
of futurism, which holds those events to be yet to come in the future.
Dr. Edward Hinson, Assistant to the Chancellor at Liberty University
wrote an article entitled, The New Last Days Scoffers, as an attempted refutation of Preterism. The article appeared in the May 2005 issue of Jerry Falwell’s ...
When Was Christ Glorified?

When was Christ glorified? The New Testament
is very clear concerning when Christ was glorified.
It was not before, but after his ascension.
The facts of the case also demonstrate that it is
not Christ’s body that was the subject of glorification.
The glory of Christ is received at his coronation, after
he returns to heaven, not before. In John 7:39, Christ’s
glory results in the outpouringof the Holy Spirit. “
But this he spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those
believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was
not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.”
Now, from this text, we know that Jesus would send ...
Is the Second Coming in 2 Timothy Imminent?

Is the Second Coming of Christ Imminent?
Christ's Second Coming
Do the scriptures in 2 Timothy teach an imminence about the second coming? Do you remember what you were doing in September 1988? Edgar Whisenant had published that
Christ would return in September 11–13, 1988.
The prediction failed. Believers felt deceived. The world was disappointed. Whisenant was embarrassed. Are you disappointed at failed predictions?
The following will show why all future predictions bring disappointment and how they can be avoided. Four dimensions of Christ's return found in 2 Timothy are, the judgment, the resurrection, the appearing, i.e. second coming of Christ, and the eternal ...
