Spiritual Gifts in the Bible
Are the spiritual gifts in the Bible operative today? We must offer caution as we answer this question. First, we must define what we mean by operative. If by operative we mean can believers today perform miracles the we may get one answer. If we mean are the miracles in the Bible operative today, we may get another answer.
So, let us be more specific.
Are Spiritual Gifts Performed by Believers Today?
Depending on who you ask that question, obviously, you'll get different answers. So, we want to ask, whether the Bible addresses the question of whether believers can ...

Leftbehind and the Tribulation Period
Some of the most popular Leftbehind books on eschatology are based on the mythological teaching of a future Rapture of the saints on earth. The
future Tribulation Period teaching books by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins have steered so many in the wrong direction regarding the end times.
The idea that God will one day en mass remove all Christians from the earth is totally unfounded in Scripture. In fact, it is diametrically opposite to what the Biblical text says. The principle which must be kept in mind is that we're discussing judgment passages.

Are you thirsting for righteousness in the
kingdom of heaven? Many are. Many are

For example, if we were to ask this question
from the perspective of Matthew 5:6, how
would you answer?
Bless are those who hunger and thirst for
righteousness, for they shall be filled.
No doubt, many would say, yes, Christ brought us righteousness through his death, burial and resurrection and the

night we had some interesting discussions
with our teenagers about money and
responsibility.
Are Only 144,000 Going to Heaven?, was a
question asked that was as much out of place
in that conversation as it is in this paragraph.
After we finished some good food and a lively
discussion, we had a ten minute devotional.
Everything went well, but at the end of the
discussion, one of the members, a really nice
lady said she was called “Miss Goody-Two-Shoes” by a coworker.
Her coworker told her to chill and stop being such a good person
because only 144,000 people were going to heaven. She said, her minister, (a ...
