All of Israel Will Be Saved

All Israel Will Be Saved
August 1st, 2011 | Eschatology | No Comment
Does The Bible Say All of Israel Will Be Saved? Why do some believe that the Bible teaches that all of Israel will be saved? Usually this question is asked based on the text in Romans 11:22-27. Particularly, in verse 26, Paul says and so all Israel will be saved. The English Standard Version (ESV) reads: “And in this way all Israel will be saved…” We will give our thoughts on this text later. But, here are some of the concerns which must be answered in this seeming difficult text. Does the text mean every individual in Israel? Was Paul speaking of all ethnic ...

Christ Is The End of the Law for Righteousness

The Lord Our Righteousness
July 21st, 2011 | Eschatology | No Comment
The Righteousness of the Law In Romans 10, Paul speaks of his fellow Jews who sought to attain to righteousness through their own works, a course which left them far short of obtaining the glory of God. "Brethren, my heart's desire and  prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establishing their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God. This lack of the true knowledge of God caused Paul ...

Christian Prophecy

July 1st, 2010 | Christian Prophecy | 3 Comments
Christian Prophecy Christian prophecy is a misnomer of sorts, a name used to describe prophecies of the Old Testament reiterated in the New. Yes, there are many claiming to have a prophetic gift today complete with the ability to foretell the future. Yet, the future or prophecy in the  New Testament was not far-sighted but near-sighted. In other words, all prophecy looked forward to that which was soon-to-come-to-pass. (Phi. 4:5; James 5:7-8, 1 Pet. 4:7, 17, Rev. 1:1-3). Shortly thereafter, (A.D. 70) the role of divinely inspired prophets ceased. There was no more forth-telling to do. What once was legitimate forth-telling became ...

Do You Pray For The Kingdom to Come?

February 24th, 2009 | Armageddon | 1 Comment
Image via Wikipedia As a third grade student, we had devotionals in our public school classroom everyone morning which involved the class singing in unison what is typically known as the Lord’s prayer, See Matt 6:9–13. I later learned that this is the prayer that the Lord taught his disciples to pray. In that sense, it would more aptly be described as the disciples prayer. See Lk 11:1ff. However, after studying the prayer, I discovered that I could not conscientiously pray that prayer as Jesus taught his disciples to pray it. Why is that? Well, it’s because it is a prayer of the coming of the kingdom. In that prayer, Jesus taught ...
