Do We Have Spiritual Gifts Today?

Do we have spiritual gifts today? Have you ever turned on your TV to find men and women who claim the power to heal the sick, raise the dead, exorcise demons, handle poisonous snakes and drink poison without harm? Well, perhaps not all of these, but we do hear of men who claim they can heal the sick.
Why is it that those who claim to heal always get to pick which gift they can exercise? I always say, let's get the poison and make sure the miracle healers take a drink first. That way we will know they have the ...
Did Paul Preach the Glory of Christ?
May 14th, 2009 | Eschatology | No Comment
In the past three kingdom articles, we've demonstrated that not only did Paul preach the kingdom of God as did Christ and John, the Baptizer, but he preached it in the book of Acts. That's not very comforting for the Dispensational view which needs a long delay between announcement of the kingdom by Christ, (Mark. 1:14-15), and fulfillment.
So, while they continue to play the guessing game, the rest of us will have to endure the glory of the present kingdom. Glory, oh yes, the glory. In today's study, we're going to briefly discuss Paul's preaching of the glory of God. ...
Are We Eliminating the Real Need for Eschatology?

In a list of objections raised by Dr. Edward
Hinsons The New Last Days’ Scoffers Articles,
he charges that Preteriism Is False, and asks
“Are We Eliminating the Real Need for Eschatology?
This is a vaild question. It causes us to focus
on what eschatology is and where to place it?
Dispensationalists and all futurists place eschatology
at the end of the Christian age. Preterism vigorously
challenges that assumption. Preterism view the Christian age as an age without end, therefore, it can have no eschatology. This, futurists believe is the great heresy of Preterism.

Eschatology is the study of last or final things, from “echatos” meaning last, and logos, ...
With What Body Do They Come?
December 3rd, 2008 | Eschatology | No Comment
The debate over the nature of the
resurrection body continues.
Paul anticipates a question from some
who ask, How are the dead
raised and with what body do they
come? (1 Cor. 15:35)
He replies with an analogy that is
troubling for many. Foolish one, what
you sow is not made alive unless it dies.
And what you sow, you do not sow
that body that shall be, but mere
grain—perhaps wheat or some other
grain.
Two things Paul says about the
resurrection body in verses 36–37.
It is not made alive unless it
dies.
It is not the same body as that
which is sown.
With What Body Do They Come?
To consider the first, whatever the
resurrection body is, ...
Did Jesus See A World Without Marriage?
Did Jesus See A World Without Marriage?
Jesus spoke with religious rulers of his day about the end of a tradition in marriage. Did Jesus see a world without marriage? Lately, there’s been a lot of talk about whether the rights of marriage should be extended to the gay community.
After giving some thought about living in a world without traditional marriages, the following thoughts occurred to me. If there were no marriages, eventually, population numbers would significantly decrease. This would temporarily lower the unemployment rate.
However, with smaller populations, the world’s productivity will also cease, so we won’t be as efficient and productive. Next, ...
