Does A Corporate Collective Resurrection Body of Christ Supersede or Annul Individual Existence?
As the resurrection debate continues, several find a corporate collective resurrection body of Christ unappealing. For them, it overrides the individual body resulting in a loss of both individuality and personhood or identity. They believe that to be part of the corporate collective body merges them into "nothingness" insignificance and non-existence.
We offer the following texts to demonstrate that the corporate body of Christ does not supersede or annul individuality.
First Consider the Corporate Body of Marriage
Marriage, i.e. the coming together of two people as one, is a collective corporate ...

The Body of Christ
The Body of Christ
Is the body of Christ to be identified with the church of the wilderness of the Old Covenant? Some believe so.
They have assumed and affirmed that the body of Christ, i.e. the spiritual body of the Lord or the church, only existed for the first century transition period between 30 to 70 AD.
After examining what some have written on the subject (we do not claim to have listened to all) we have noticed one problem in their attributing passages which speak of the body of Moses to the body of Christ.
By the body ...

Does The Bible Say All of Israel Will Be Saved?
Why do some believe that the Bible teaches that all of Israel will be saved? Usually this question is asked based on the text in Romans 11:22-27. Particularly, in verse 26, Paul says and so all Israel will be saved. The English Standard Version (ESV) reads:
“And in this way all Israel will be saved…” We will give our thoughts on this text later. But, here are some of the concerns which must be answered in this seeming difficult text.
Does the text mean every individual in Israel?
Was Paul speaking of all ethnic ...

Baptism and Resurrection
In our previous study, we focused on baptism and resurrection in Romans, pointing out the eschatological future of resurrection. Common church of Christ beliefs are that baptism was both a burial and resurrection. In many of their presentations, they cite the mode of baptism as the dying and rising with Christ using texts such as Romans 6:3-4 and Colossians 2 as proof.
However, as we've shown in the former study on baptism and eschatology, baptism and resurrection are not synonymous in Romans 6. Nor is it synonymous in Colossians 2. The distinction between baptism and resurrection is once again ...

House of Prayer
One might think that eschatology has nothing to do with the house of prayer, but that would be incorrect. We have established the relationship of the body of Christ, i.e. the Christian church as the hope of Israel (Col. 2:17; Eph. 1:13-14; 3:21) and the local church as having continued relevance in the present church age (Zech 4:1-2; Rev. 1:19).
This naturally leads us to ask questions about worship? Should we worship? Does worship and prayer have any relevance in the kingdom today? In prophecy, God spoke of the inclusive body of Christ as the house of prayer.
During the ...
