Adoption Belonged to the Old Covenant People Israel
Concerning Israel's adoption, Paul wrote, "For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my countrymen according to the flesh, who are Israelites, to whom pertain the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the services of God, and the promises; of whom are the fathers and from whom, according tot he flesh, Christ came, who is over all, the eternally blessed God. Amen." (Rom. 9:3-5).
That the apostle is specifically speaking of Israel is evident from verse six. This point cannot be denied. Yet, in ...

The Kingdom of God and Resurrection
1 Corinthians 15 is butchered by most interpreters, especially the text regarding inheriting the kingdom of God, (v. 50). In this writing, I want to suggest another angle from which to consider the meaning of inheriting the kingdom so that the focus is not on human bodies coming out of graveyards. This view distorts the chapter and runs far amiss of what the apostle had in mind.

A Day As A Thousand Years - Christian Eschatology
Second Peter three is a much abused text in the study of Christian eschatology (the end times and last days prophecy). One of the most abused passages in the chapter is verse 8. "But beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." How have the futurists, skeptics and Dispensationalists used this verse? In a word, backwards.
What I mean is that they have used it in exactly the opposite manner as that intended by the Apostle. ...

Parables of the Kingdom
The parables of the kingdom, are some of Jesus' most memorable teachings. One, because of they form short, memorable stories taken from the culture of His day. Secondly because of the clarity in which He expressed their simple truths. Another reason is that they engage the curiosity forcing one to contemplate and to think deeply about them.
Matthew chapter 13, contains many of His parables. They all are focused on the imminent arrival of the kingdom of God. One of the most well known is the parable of the sower. This story definitely focuses on the responsibility one ...
Hebrews 1:10-12 – End of the World 2012?

Hebrews 1:10-12 - End of the World 2012? What does this passage say about the date of December 21, 2012? Is it a prophecy of the future end of the planet? This is what we call covenant eschatology. It is about the end of the a covenant. It is not cosmic in the sense of a physical destruction of the world. Note the passage, then we will offer a few reasons why this text says cannot be predicting an event of 2012 or other such event.
And: 'You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth ...
