Resurrection and Mystery Babylon

Resurrection and Mystery Babylon go together like chocolate and peanut butter.  They are inseparable in Scripture. We endeavor in this writing to show that the identity and judgment of Mystery Babylon corresponds to the time of the resurrection.

Mystery Babylon and the Last Trumpet

In Revelation 11:8-18, Mystery Babylon is identified as the city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. This clearly marks Jerusalem as the subject of the mystery. Jesus was crucified in Jerusalem outside the gates, (Heb. 13:12). During His ministry he stated that it could not be that a prophet perish outside of Jerusalem, (Lk. 13:33).

Jerusalem had been likened to Sodom, a city noted for harlotry in the past, Isaiah 1:21; Ezk. 16:48-49, 53-57. In the Revelation text, 11:8, it is now spiritually called Sodom, i.e. Sodom (more…)

Resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15, Where Did You Start? Part 2

Welcome to part 2 of “Resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15, Where Did You Start? I’m sure that you’re like everyone else with many things to do and very little time to get it done. Well, at least that’s what it’s like for me. Taking the time to write a blog post challenges me at times, like now. But, I promised to follow up from yesterday so here we go. After looking at the source of 1 Corinthians 15 from Hosea 5:13f, we continue to examine chapter 6 in the light of what we discover there.

Resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15, Where Did You Start?

1 Corinthians 15, continues to be a battleground of eschatological turf. The major issues here are whether the text focuses on physical or sin-death, and whether it is about a past or future event. What one decides about the chapter depends largely upon the first step to interpreting it. Hence we ask, “Resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15, Where Did You Start?

What Does Paul Say About Daniel 12 and the Time of the Resurrection?

HOMELESS

In a recent study, we discussed
Daniel 12, and Paul’s commentary

Failed bible prophecies is an oxymoron. Yet

A Natural and a Spiritual Body?

Spiritual Body

In 1 Corinthians 15:44, the Apostle
Paul speaks of the contrast between
a natural and a spiritual body.

Today, we hear a lot about “spirituality”
especially from a new age perspective.

However, most people claiming to be
spiritual are completely out of harmony
with the manner in which the term is
used in Scripture.

In fact, the way many use that term is
what the Bible emphatically calls the
“natural” man.

There are two Greek terms used to describe these contrasts.

How Does Paul Use The Term “Body”?

Jesus & Zacchaeus

The study of the resurrection is one of
great interest and controversy. That
conflict derives from the question of
How does Paul use the term body?

For many, body in resurrection texts
is unquestionable. They take it to be
so obviously literal that an alternate
viewpoint is considered ridiculous.

The following points should help in our
understanding of the body from Paul’s
view point.

First, we must begin with the motif of

1 Corinthians 15 and Hosea

Much controversy exists over the
resurrection of the dead. It is often
denied that the 1 Corinthians 15 has
anything to do with Israel.

Is1 Corinthians 15 Israel’s resurrection?
Many see Jesus’ death on the cross as
God’s last word to Israel.

Those who do are very tight-lipped
about anything that speaks of Israel
beyond the cross, (AD. 30).
