In a continuation of our study on the
we ask are some are “Seeing too much
Rapture in the Gospel of John 14:3?

Today, we further investigate whether
this text teaches the Rapture.

It is assumed that because the Lord said
he was going away and would come again
that an intermediate period for the Rapture
before the “final” end can be inserted.

Yet, one cannot build such a doctrine
in the parameters of this context. We’ll
get to that in a moment.

As we pointed out in the previous post,

End of the World, Have Heaven and Earth Passed? Part 6

11th century Hebrew Bible with Targum.

End of the World

This third segment on Eschatology – Have
heaven and earth passed?,
is part of an
agglomeration of about seven posts we
made on this topic.

All of this information is only part of the
picture in the study of the passing of the
Old Covenant.

Here, we look into the New Testament
expressions of Christ and the Apostles to
note how they applied these texts from
the Old Covenant.

To begin, let us consider what should be a rather easy very to grasp.

Who Is Elijah Who Would Come?

Prophet Malachi, Russian icon from first quart...

According to Malachi 4:5, the great and
dreadful day of the Lord follows very soon
after the coming of Elijah.

The question before us is, “who is Elijah
who would come?
Many recognize that
this mysterious prophet precedes the
coming of the day of the Lord.

As a child, I often heard stories that
Elijah Muhammad fulfilled this prophecy,
signaling that Armageddon was near.

Five possibilities exist for the identity of
the end time prophet Elijah.

  • Elijah, of Old Testament prophecy
  • John, the immerser
  • Jesus Christ
  • Elijah Muhammad of the NOI
  • Some unknown figure yet to come (more…)

When Does Jesus Come in His Kingdom?

For the Son of man will come in the glory
of His Father with His angels, and then he
will reward each according to his works.

Assuredly I say to you, there are some standing
here who shall not taste death till they see the
Son of Man coming in His kingdom, (Matthew
16:27, 28).

Jesus promised to come in his kingdom before some who
stood in his presence died. That means he promised to
come in the lifetime of those living in his day.

The phrase, “some standing here,” emphatically declares
that the kingdom of God would arrive before those disciples
died.

This interpretation raises problems for futurists and Rapture
Ready dispensationalists. Here are some difficulties they
must resolve:

  • How a Rapture aligns with an imminent
    return of Christ.
  • Why Jesus said nothing of the postponement
    of the kingdom
  • How to maintain the integrity of Christ in the
light of the death of these first century disciples.

When does Jesus Come in His Kingdom? This hotly debated
subject need not be difficult.

How Can You Be Raptured from Financial Armageddon?

There is no question that a financial crisis was a sign
of the end time which came to pass in the first century.
The book of Revelation speaks of a beast who affected
the entire economy.

Under his designs none but those who had the
mark of the beast could buy or sell. (Revelation 12:17).
This had the net effective of a severe financial crisis.

Have you ever experienced a financial crisis in your life?
I remember back in the 80’s when I came very near
having my automobile re-possessed and within hours
of foreclosure on my house.

At the time, I worked in commission sales full-time, but
it seemed I only got paid part time. The problem had
nothing to do with the business or the economy. Some
thrived.

It had everything to do with my mind-set which largely
operated out of fear. That and the automobile company
pushing my back against the wall with demands for
payment.

Needless to say, I did not have the money. Two months
behind on my car note for about the 3rd time left me
with no wiggle room for a financial escape.

On one day in January 1986, I received a call from the
collection department threatening to pull my car. If that
happened I would not be able to work and make sales.

At my response to the demands of the collection agency,
I never in a millennium could have imagined what happened
next.

Does America Need Change, Obama or the Rapture?

In an article by Rapture Ready writer Jack Kelley, the
question is raised, how would Jesus vote? The
undertones of the article subtly suggests that
Jesus would proudly be a “conservative” Republican.

There is a political and religious bias that somehow
believes that to vote Democratic is both ungodly
and unChristian. Wonder how an independent’s
faith is classified?

The Rapture Ready scribe argues that America
was founded as a Christian nation. Well at least
we can say it “professed” to be.

Were these the same “born again” Christians who
claimed land belonging to American Indians as their
own? What Biblical principle did this uphold? Thou
shalt steal? Thou shalt covet?

So, if you want your neighbors land, just shoot him
and move his family on a vacant lot and call it a
reservation! Reserved until when and for whom?
The Rapture? How is that righteousness?

If an alien from Mars landed on earth today and planted
a flag on the White house lawn claiming they discovered
a new nation while Africans who had arrived in American
before them navigated the space ship, by what logic or
Christian principle would America belong to the Martians?

So, the native Americans were discovered by aliens
and that makes it right in the sight of God! Does
America Need Change, Obama or the Rapture?

Will the Antichrist Come out of the European Union?

No, the Antichrist will not come out of the European
Union. The myth of the European Union in Bible
prophecy is based on a misinterpretation of the
ten-horned beast of Daniel 7:7 which is the ancient
Roman empire.

Due to the influence of Dispensationalists such as
John Walvoord, Tim Lahaye and others, Revelation
13 is supposedly a future prophecy of the revivification
of a 10–nation confederacy in which it is claimed Italy
must be a part.

This is nonsense. The error is compounded in failing to
properly assign the date of Revelation to a Pre-
destruction of Jerusalem time frame and an application
harmonious with first century history.

Additionally, the 10–horned beast of Daniel’s vision
did not refer to 10 consecutive kings or nations, but
was a composite beast, described as having 10 horns.

The ancient nations of Babylon, Medo-Persia and Greece
were swallowed up in the Roman empire hence the
symbols of the lion, bear and leopard imagery of
Revelation 13:2. Compare with Daniel 7:1–6. (more…)

believe these words are true? So, either way it goes,
you’re going to believe one or the other. You will believe
that God is a liar, or you will believe that these words are
true. Please understand that your belief will not change the
