End of the World 2012 and Population Growth Do we have a little conflict with the end of the world 2012? Scientists report that by the year 2050, the population on earth will exceed 10 billion people. Apparently, they are not expecting the alleged Rapture or the alleged future second coming to have much of an impact. Dispensationalists have not convinced these scientists that the alleged Rapture will take care of all future population growth. It helps to set the context, time and significance of the events of Romans 8:18-23. The passage is related to an event which often is misunderstood and misapplied.
